Founder, ELICO

Our Founder

The foundation for indigenous analytical instrument manufacturing industry in India, was laid with the establishment of ELICO in 1960, by Sri. DVS Raju, an Electrical Engineer, upon his return from England. The intention to promote self-reliance and import substitution led to the design, development and manufacture of the country’s first indigenous pH meter.

Ramesh Datla

Chairman

Dr. Ramesh Datla, with an experience spanning three decades at technology based companies in India and USA, has been leading the company since 1998.  He is currently the Chairman of the group.

Armed with a Doctorate in Spectroscopy Instrumentation, his passion for technology has resulted in a wealth of patents & design copyrights. An Alumnus of the MIT Sloan School of Business, USA, where he graduated in Executive Management, he holds Masters’ Degrees from the Wichita State University, Kansas in Electrical Engineering and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in Electronic Design Technology.

He has been actively associated with the largest industry chamber in India and held several advisory beneficial roles to the Government on behalf of the Industry. He represented India as a speaker at the OECD Conference – Tokyo, GTZ Conference – Berlin, Gulf Cooperation Council Meeting – Muscat, UKIBC Conference – Manchester, USIBC Conference – Washington DC and B20 Working Group for G20 Summit, France. He also led several industry delegations to United States, Europe, Mexico, Japan, South East Asia, China, Africa & CIS countries.

A significant cornerstone of Elico’s journey over the last six decades had been innovation and creativity. Creativity and diligence in our work ethic has led to the introduction of smart and sustainable holistic analytical concepts that contribute immense value for our more than 50,000 customers across the world.

Vanitha Datla

Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director

As the current Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director of Elico Ld., Vanitha has been driving Operations, Sales, Finance and Human Resources to strengthen the company’s presence across the globe. She comes with a rich and diverse experience spanning multi industries from the manufacturing and services domain over the last 28 years, with stints in sectors such as Cement, Security Printing and Financial Services. 

A proponent for continual learning, she is currently pursuing a doctoral-level program at the Indian School of Business, researching the role of women in family businesses, in addition to holding a Chartered Financial Analyst Charter (CFA)and a Degree in Business Management (PGDBA) from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India and the ICFAI Business School respectively. 

She has been actively contributing to various industry forums on policy advocacy, especially on economic eco-systems for the SME sector as well as initiatives related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and has held numerous leadership positions in professional organizations. A True Multi-tasker, Vanitha has won numerous awards & recognitions for her capabilities and contributions.

KVSN Raju

President & Executive Director

K V S N Raju is a true example of the company’s ability to nurture talent and passion to scale up the professional ladder. Associated for more than two decades, Raju joined Elico as an R&D Engineer in 1999 and has played various roles such as Project Manager, Head – Software Development, General Manager – Technology Services (R&D), Vice President Technical and Operations, before presently becoming the President and Executive Director.

He has been driving business development both domestically, across all states within India and globally, to more than thirty countries. Raju’s keen focus on New Product Development has not only helped create numerous innovative products for different customer segments, but his close work and collaboration with many analytical instrumentation companies in the United States and Europe have helped in commercializing our technologies and enabling research and development partnerships with multinational clients.
 

A Master’s degree holder (MBA in Technology Management) from Osmania University in Hyderabad, Raju has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.E) from University of Madras and has represented Elico as a speaker in the ISO General Assembly on Industry standards to foster innovation in MSMEs.
